I do not thing I’ve shared this early Koenig hardtop brochure that was published in a Willys Overland Equipment booklet.

1968 Snow Bunnies jeep Ad
The 1950s jeeps were built for work. The 1960s jeeps were built for fun, as this 1968 ad from the Norwalk Hour attests.
1953? 2×4 Ambulance Wagon Brochure **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
This spec sheet is a rare one. It’s not clear to me how the seller arrived at the 1953 date.

1960 Koenig Winch Brochure on eBay

Download The Willys Story
You may remember that a few months ago a document called The Willys Story went up for sale on eBay. Well, fortunately for all of us, that document sold to an eWillys reader who asked if I would make a high-resolution version available to anyone who wants it. Given the document was a pricey purchase, it’s a very generous offer. So, a big thank you is in order for that anonymous benefactor!
The document is 85 pages and purports to show all the different aspect of the Willys-Overland Company from 1940 to 1954. You’ll see that Willys had their hands into a variety of things, not just jeeps.
I’ve uploaded the file to my google drive, so downloading it should be a snap. It is just under 400MB, so it’s not a small PDF file.

(I have never used by google drive space. My test of the download worked. But, the internet sometimes works in mysterious ways, so if you have problems, please let me know!)

Below are some low res pictures of some of the jeep-related images:
Early Meyers Hardtop Brochure
This brochure suggests that a company called Meyers Aircraft developed the hardtop that was eventually sold/taken-over by Sears. It makes sense that an aircraft company would make an aluminum hardtop. So, there may be a few Meyers’ made hardtops mistaken as Sears or Allstate tops.
2 Early Wagon Brochures and Photos Minneapolis, MN $40
Looks like the photos are 8×10 press photos.

“Easy-Way” Post-Hole Digger
The “Easy-Way” post-hole digger was manufactured by Standar Steel Works out of Kansas City, MO. I thought i’d done a post on the early post-hole diggers that were available, but I hadn’t. So, expect that one soon.
1952 Wagon-Ambulance Brochure **SOLD**
UPDATE: This brochure was originally sold on eBay in 2018.
“1952 Willys Overland 475 Utility Ambulance Specification Sheet.”
1960 Jeep Family Jack-Of-All-Trades Brochure
1958 Jeep Calendar
Niel shared a scan of his 1958 Jeep calendar. He says it puts a smile on his face every time he sees it. The only other calendar I have scanned is the 1961 calendar. Anyone know when these Jeep calendars first began and when (if) they ended?
Newton Power Sickle Mower Ad on eBay
Newton made at least two different models of the mower, a “J” and an “L”. It was the “J” that was used on the jeep (according to the ad). (See brochures for the Newton and other mowers here)
“THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1948 ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE NEWTON POWER SICKLE MOWER; FITS TRACTORS AND JEEPS; MANUFACTURED BY THE H. G. & S. MANUFACTURING CORPORATION IN NEWTON, WISCONSIN. AD IS IN GREAT CONDITION AND HAS EXCELLENT GRAPHICS. AD MEASURES 5 1/8″ X 3 5/8″.”
The Story of The Hurricane Engine Brochure
I found this Hurricane Engine Introduction on eBay. It’s the first one I’ve seen. It credits Barney Roos for redeveloping the L-head into a more powerful engine without forcing a complete retooling.
Eye-Catching Ice Cream and Diaper Service Jeeps
UPDATE: This was previously published in July of 2014.
This great article from the July 1947 issue of W-O Sales News highlights the use of jeeps as ice-cream distributors and as a diaper service. Companies highlighted include Better Brands Ice Cream Novelties, Swell Time Ice Cream Corporation, and Wee Folk Laundry.
4-Wheel Drive ‘Jeep’ Sign **SOLD**
UPDATE: Was on eBay. **SOLD**
“20 * 18in double sided flange sign. This sign does have some very minor wear around the edges, see images of front and back. Great for sign collectors, bar, garage, man-cave, restaurant, shop, or any collection. Thanks for looking!”
K & K Minute Snow Blade Brochure
I like the way the hydraulic line from the snow plow was fed through the open window. K & K claimed the blade could be installed in two minutes or less. I’m thinking it should have been called the “Two Minute Snow Blade”.
The Story of the Auburn Jeep-A-Trench
This was published around 1950. It’s less story and more marketing, but still interesting. The argument that the trencher doesn’t affect the roadability of the jeep might be a stretch ….
1959 Argentinian Wagon Brochure on eBay
August 1960 Jeep Family Brochure **SOLD**
1956 Kelly Mfg. 200 Series Brochure on eBay
What I find interesting about this brochure is that the front cover includes a small information bit noting that the Kelly All-Steel Jeep CAB was “KNOWN ALSO AS THE KEMCO CAB”. If the date is accurate, this suggests the shift in branding from KEMCO to Kelly around 1956.
1959 CJ-5 Hardtop Brochure **SOLD**
UPDATE: SOLD, Was on eBay. As I understand it, this top was quietly manufactured for Willys Motors by Koenig, but never branded a Koenig. I am also of the belief that it fits both the CJ-5 and the DJ-3A, though the latter needs the windshield with ‘wings’ to fit.
This brochure makes it clear that the CJ-5 hardtop with sliding doors also provided an option for hinging the door instead. I think Mike might have told that was an option, but I’d never seen documentation of it until now.
Datasheets From 1958(?) on eBay
This is a series of datasheets from circa 1958 on eBay. The start prices are $12 each.
