Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This is likely the first station wagon brochure for the ‘brochure family‘ that the Kaiser Willys marketing team produced. It’s from SD-221-4 and has the KW logo. This is currently available on eBay.

This form W-242-6 highlighted the new CJ-6’s additional 50% more cargo area. This isn’t the best example of this brochure, as it has some fading at the top and right side.

This brochure was part of the family of brochures described in this Kaiser/Willys ad post from a few days ago. Curiously, this brochure is labeled form W-239-6, suggesting it was printed for 1956, while the original version of this was form W-239-5.
After comparing the two different versions, I could only find some minor differences between the two. The ‘biggest’ difference was a slight repositioning of the text within the balloons on page 2 of the brochure. Form “5” had misplaced the text slightly, with a few letters extending above a couple balloons. Form “6” seems to have fixed that. It also appears that Form “6” uses a bolder font for the text in the balloons. There could also be some minor differences that I did not detect. Here’s my comparison of the balloons:
So, now I know I should have bought a W-239-5 version if I wanted the original! Another lesson learned the hard way 🙂 … anyway, here’s the scan of the W-239-6 version:

This was advertised in a late 1955 Willys News, but does not appear to have been published until 1956, based on the Form M-221-6.

This 1955 Willys Newspaper marked the transition away from Kaiser Willys news to just Willys News.
Gayland also sent this standard DJ-5L Dispatcher 100 brochure, form AMG 7-80.

I would guess this is an early 1952 booklet. The “W” shown on the back likely puts it after the big push in 1952 to shift towards the Willys marketing umbrella, but not late enough to list the 1953 475 model truck.
The first brochure, Form W-230-5, is the domestic brochure. The second brochure, Form SX-230-4, was released by the Willys-Overland Export Company.
There are small differences between the two brochures on both the front and back pages. The interior pages are the same.

This 24 page brochure is labeled form W-992-5. An article about the brochure was published in May 1955 issue of the Willys Dealer News.

Here’s a brochure (Form 471A10) that I missed on eBay last year (and that I’ve never seen).
