“This is a very neat truck. The first year for the Willys jeep truck production was 1947, This truck was the 972 willys truck ever built out of only appx 2600 .. Its a 2 T model. 2 wd. With the rare Column shift transmission. Flat head 4cyl motor. It is in remarkable condition for its age. These are prone to rust and this one is very solid !!!
I purchased this truck at the Iola vintage car show. My son and I have taken it to some shows, driven it around town and had fun with it. Now we want to buy a muscle car . These trucks as well as any old car are prone to rust, What impressed me the most about this truck was how solid the body was. This willys has never had the floors patched !!! Even the nicest old cars ive seen have had the front floors patched. This jeep has the orig floors. very nice body mounts underneath. orig Willys rocker panels, Nice door bottoms. Orig steel front and rear fenders. No rust in bed floor. The only body damage is on the tailgate,which is dented in the middle. They do sell new ones. I dont know how old the paint job is. Not a show job, but shines nice. Has some scratchs here and there. Wheels have been repainted, Tires are old, It think the spare is the orig 1947 tire !!! The interior has a new headliner. Orig cover on the upper seat back, and recovered lower seat, Orig steering wheel, The wipers dont work. Doors open and shut great. Lights all work great”

(12/13/09) This looks like a nice rebuild. Apparently, the interior needs finishing; but, it is drivable.
“1947 Jeep Willys Pickup. 350 Chevy Motor with less then 100 Miles. 350 Turbo automatic transmission. Hurst click shifter. Interior need to be finished. Exrta parts fenders, doors, grill. I have over 4500.00 dollars invested in the engine alone the tires are in excellient condition. This vehicle is in driveable condintion is on a S10 chevy frame it has a stock rearend all the tires are new it has new brakes all around. I have extra fenders,grill,and doors it has most of the chrome. Someone else took the pictures the dash is stock , however above the mirror there is a little rust . as far as I know it has the original title listed as a 47 I lost my job is the reason It is being sold. We did replace the floor in it so that is all done except around by the steering coloum it needs to be finished out side of that the interior is in good shape it just needs to be finished up. the windshield is out of it right now cause the weather stripping was bad however the windshield is in excellent shape. My son and I decided that would be agood time to redo around the windshield area. any more questions feel free to email me. BUT IT IS DRIVEABLE.”

“This is a fully restored 1953 Flat Fender Willys Jeep Pickup. This truck was taken down to the frame and was sand blasted and painted. Body and Box were taken down to bare metal, repaired and dents removed. It was re-assembled with all new brakes, brake lines, and master cylinder. The wiring is factory after market. The chrome has been cleaned and rechromed or is new old stock. Interior is new black vynil. The engine was a running 4 cylinder “Hurricane” removed from another not so fortunate jeep from the same era. It has Warren Hubs and new tires.”

“For Sale is my 1953 Willys Pickup with many custom features.Has a fully custom powdercoated fully boxed chassis with Mustang 2 frontend and a Chris Alston 4 bar setup in the rear with a Ford 9″.Is complete with 4 wheel disc brakes and rolling on 20″ Billet Specialties rear and 18″fronts.Cab is chopped 3″ with suicide doors and shaved handles with all electrics including remotes for the doors and also the tilt bed.Bed is custom and is able to be raised with 2 linear actuators,tailgate is also electric.Engine is a Chevy 350 with a 6:71 Mooneyham teflon sealed Blower running 9% underdriven.Has all the goodies and was built specifically for the street and is a very driveable reliable street driven truck. UPDATE 3: The eWillys Israel bureau is hot on the trail of the ‘Tender’. Another set of pics was accompanied by the following update.
Here’s what he Googled in Hebrew: “A man named Efraim Eilin had a vision of an Israeli car industry. In 1950 he made partnership with Kaizer Enterprises and in 1951 he opened the Kaizer-Eilin assembly plant. The plant[S] made more then 100,000 cars [Kaiser Frazer, Dofin Renolt, kontesa , Lark Studibaker…] and at some point the plant export was 28% of all the Israeli exports! I couldn’t find info on the Willys except that they made the panel, the wagon and the pick-up [we say: ‘Tender’]. All the body parts were made in Israel in another plant in Israel; so, I guess that the trucks used the low part of the panel/wagon + special design for the back as an original Kaiser-Eilin. The Willys had 2 engines: 2199 cc 4 cylinder and 3770 cc 6 c‘”

As I note in the comments to this post, a couple days ago I did a number of searches (and found some interesting truck sites that I will include in upcoming posts), but I found no references to the ‘Tender’ or ‘high back’ trucks. If anyone knows anything about them, please let me know.

Every nut, bolt and mechanical part on the truck has been completely restored like new or replaced. The frame, all sheet metal components including the cab was sandblasted at the start of the restoration. All this including the mechanical work has been done in a professional manner.
