Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys CJ2A with GM Iron Duke engine. Has a welded in roll bar, power steering. Body is in great shape. Does not run and has no title. Was set up for trails but is street legal. Bought for parts, but is too nice to strip down.”

“WWhy buy a side-by-side when you can have a street legal Jeep? Mechanically this jeep has been rebuilt. Jeep runs and drives excellent. Clean Iowa title.
Below is a partial list of every thing done.
– Engine rebuilt including machining of the block. Rotating assembly machined or replaced. New cam, pistons Etc.
– All new cooling system including water pump and radiator.
-New clutch and flywheel was surfaced.
-Complete new brake system
-All new Walcks wiring harness. All lights converted to LED. 12V system. GM alternator and keyed start with Ford relay.
-Ignition up graded to Pertronix with new coil. New wires and plugs
-Transmission rebuilt. Replaced gears that were damaged. New synchronizers.
-Transfer case rebuilt. Parking brake rebuilt, friction replaced.
-New seat wood, foam, and covers. Also installed seat warmers. New rugged ridge rear seat.
-New Springs, bushings, links, and shocks.
-New Joint’s in all shafts front axle shaft”

Runs and drives as it should and passed MA inspection.
Lots of fun to drive , everyone will waive and salute, great for parades.
Sold as is seen in the photos , there is no top for this jeep.
The Jeep is stored inside with climate control on a trickle charger.
These old jeeps are not meant for highway speeds and you can expect 45 MPH

“1947 Willys Jeep. And a 1951 Willys Jeep for parts. The red 47 was running and used to push/pull vehicles into an auto clinic. Hasnt been syarted in several years and rats got to the wiring and hoses. Motor turns over by hand. The blue 51 had a new clutch installed a few years ago, but haven’t done anything with it since. No titles and lots of rust. I don’t have time to fix them up like I wanted. Located near Clifty, AR. $2500 obo.”

“Cj2A tub. Left sided spare tire bracket, called a “left tub” I was told there was only around 10,000 made but either way it’s a half way decent tub that will get your project moving. Better suited for a driver or rock bouncer, or if you’ve got the time it’s restorable.”

“47 Willy’s, on 69 cj frame w Buick v6. 4 speed manual transmission 4 wheel drive. New tie rods . Does run but I haven’t started it in years. So it needs some minor tlc. Would make a great project for someone who does Jeep clubs. Willing to deal make me an offer. Getting ready to move needs to go. Stored in garage last 7 years.”
