Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I got this willys in a trade with some parts. it looks to be pretty complete. it has a toyota running gear in it from a 83 toyota truck I believe(it’s a 20R). I don’t know much about it. I would like to trade for a running truck or 1500. I’m available all week..”
Seller lists this as a 1942, but it looks civilian to me.

“Late 40’s Willy’s Jeep CJ2A. Not much left of the body, was used for farm work. Engine runs, not many miles on it. Flathead 4 cylinder with 3 speed. Had a plow but was removed a while ago. Great for parts, use or rebuild. Tub is mostly missing, front clip intact. Frame looks ok. Drives. Delivery possible in WNY. Pics coming soon.”

Motor and transmission rebuilt around 3000 miles ago. Has BEST top soft top, bikini top, CB radio, rugged ridge 10,500 lb. winch, and tow bar, full roll cage, electric wipers, spare tire, custom gas tank, drivers and passengers heaters, axillary cooling fan, high jack, jerry can and RIGHT LOCK lockers in rear differential
Foot start with key. I have the original motor for a spare, it runs but smokes pretty badly. The speedometer and temp gauge work, oil and amp gauge not functioning.
I mainly used this as my off road vehicle so it’s pretty beat up, but it will take you anywhere you could possibly want to go, the high jack has a bend in it near the top.
While I do have a tow bar It gets the jeep death wobble if you tow it with it, tow dolly or trailer would be best , I had a custom gas tank made so I would have to worry about puncturing it, I’ve never gotten around to putting a fuel sensor in it. It has the L-134 (go devil) motor and the T-90 transmission both in excellent working order.
I hate to sell but i don’t have the time to take her out and play anymore and I need the room in my garage for other projects”

Terry’s got this VEC for sale.
“For sale as is, will restore for you or will build to your specs. 1946 Willys, CJ2A, S/N 29968. This is an early CJ2A and is one of the very rare first units that is equipped with the, still intact, column shift system. No restorative work has been done. The body and chassis are very solid with minimal rust. There is some body “character marks” that are repairable. Overall the body components are in good shape. The motor is seized. The transmission and transfer cases both shift. There have been some minor repairs, comparatively speaking, done to the front frame horns. The jeep is very complete with very few of the original parts missing. This is a great jeep for an accurate restoration.
