Have 1947 with title Tub had plate on saying 1954 took off to check and lost them in house remodeling . Did lots of work on it 11 years ago , new wiring , water pump, head gasket was leaking ( shaved head .015), fuel/water separator, new brakes and master cylinder, new muffler and homemade Bimini top.
Always smoked and not a lot of power, but plowed snow good. Daughter was driving it about 6 years ago and she said it started smoking and nocking and would not run right. Been sitting in garage. Since. Don’t have time to rebuild flat head motor or the cash right now. Block is in good shape.
I installed large bumper and boxed front of frame for snow plow, have original bumper. Added Reece hitch. It has PTO hook up but they never put leaver through floor. Decided need 24’ enclosed trailer instead….lol Have extra springs and steering linkage Did compression test 55,57,72 & 75 starting on #1 . Askin $2200 obo”
This lacks a title and doesn’t have an engine installed.

UPDATE: Still Available.
(05/082022) This may still need work. It appears to be a CJ-2A chassis with an M-38 body on it.

“1948 Willy’s with small block from a 1955 corvette (265) Please message for full description and details- comes with tons of extra parts, extra transmission and much much more. too much to list and not enough space on this ad to list it all.”
This looks solid, though it has some overspray on the gauges.

“Have a Willys/Jeep, No Engine. Setup for a small block chevy. Has a gm 3 speed manual with hurst shifter adapted to jeep transfer case. I believe it’s on a 70’s Era jeep frame, has disc brake front axle. Comes with motor mounts, headers, radiator, to put the chevy motor in it. 31″ tires with good tread, this is in rough shape but would make a fun mud toy, No Title.”

“1947 Willys CJ2A 4×4 V8 NO PINK SLIP •BILL OF SALE
• •I have all 3 Vin Tags •265 V8 Small Block out of a 1955 Bel Air. •The engine is seized and way out dated. •There are no cables or wires on this vehicle, meaning it does not run, start, drive, you name it. Currently for the flint stones. • Transmission and Transfer case are original to the vehicle. •Only thing not original is engine and some metal used to patch rust. •Gas tank has a small hole so it will need to be welded or replaced •Mileage is unknown on this vehicle •It did once run with the V8 in it. •All bushing and rubber seals have cracking. • Vehicle rolls and turns freely. Steering is hooked up •All tires hood air but do not recommend pulling vehicle at high speeds. • Extra parts include, radiator, ignition, starter, fuel pump, brake pedal, clutch pedal, wind shield wiper motor, high beam floor switch, fan, tow hook and shifter cover. •Rear floor pan is out of a YJ Jeep.”
This has an unusual windshield setup.

“1947 Jeep CJ2 with a CJ3B engine (so its not the flat head engine)
Runs excellent. Brand new gas tank installed. New seat upholstery needs installed. Has new bimini top. Comes with an extra transmission and transfer case.
Clutch cable does need some adjustment. I did drive this down the road a few weeks ago, ran, drove, and shifted fine.
4×4 works.
Has tow hitch on front.
Clean title in hand.
$3500 or trade for other classic cars or trucks.”
Given the ignition switch holes aren’t in the dash, this might have a 3A body.

“1948 willys, this is a project vehicle, all original parts are there, engine turns, no title!!!”

“The motor has been changed with a 2.4 liter from a Ford Pinto. This has a Warn overdrive. The body is in nice shape. The carb needs some adjustment. It has 2 sets of tires that includes the original rims. Both set need replacing. Has the soft top and doors that are in fair condition.”
UPDATE : **SOLD** Was $6000.
(04/07/2022) Has a few updates.
“You won’t find a cleaner Willys Jeep. Everything is in great shape. A couple dings on the body but no rust. Runs great! New clutch just put in this month. This thing is incredible out on the trail or crawling up hills. After market winch, roll bar, bucket seats and back seat. Custom soft top and bikini top included”
This looks in good shape. It’s missing a few stock details (PTO bar and top bow holders for example).

“I finished restoring this CJ2A about 6 or 7 years ago. The body was stripped down to bare metal and all rust was removed. The paint is in good shape but has a few spots that are noticeable up close. The frame has been covered in POR15.
All new fuel system
All new brake system
New radiator
Rebuilt transmission
New clutch
All new wiring harness
Warn locking hubs
BFG All Terrain KO 30×9.5 R15
New glass
Aftermarket turn signals added
Everything works and it runs and drives great. It does have the usual leaks (small) in the typical areas.”
Bill shared this project. The seller notes this is “the best jeep you will find”. You be the judge. The tub has been modified with a script back. There are additional mods, such as the front springs being reversed. Strangely, this rig was included in this Hemmings write-up.

Glenn shared this jeep with a VEC CJ-2A body. Note the frame is described as “perfect” even though it appears modified at the front frame rails and, I suspect as a cheap lift, the rear spring hanger on the front springs has been modified.

“Almost completely rebuilt with a Jeep Dauntless V6. Frame is perfect, I’m trying to thin out my Jeep collection. It’s in primer black and is considered an early Jeep. Email only, no trades and cash only.”

“Selling my CJ2a project I’ve never had time to complete. I’m in Mclouth KS but for whatever reason marketplace won’t let me change the location… It’s a rare factory column shift manual transmission and has original motor that was actually running 20 years ago. Tub has rust but they sell patch panels and tub kits online. Needs a complete restoration Feel free to ask questions, if it’s still listed it’s still for sale. Price 1600.00 or best offer . Very few column shifters around. Sold with bill of sale”
This appears to have a PTO lever, but I don’t see any implements on the front or back.

“1948 Jeep Willys CJ2A, Runs good, New Top, Good Tires, Stock”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $5200.
Pics include both with and without tires, so it’s unclear to me the actual status of the jeep. I’m assuming if it drive, that the tires are attached.

“1948 Willys CJ2A runs & drives, needs some tinkering, carburetor is grumpy! $5200 no trade”
The body has had some bodywork, but is supposed to run. It has a Ford GPW block that was rebuilt in Germany.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/380736374040954
“1948 Willys CJ2A, powered by a “Go Devil” L134 4 cylinder flathead engine. 3speed T90 transmission and Dana 18 transfer case. Jeep runs and drives good, shifts through all the gears and 4wd works in high and low range. The brake shoes and wheel cylinders were recently replaced, including the brake shoes on the back of the transfer case. Complete new exhaust from the manifold back.
There is evidence the jeep has had body work during its lifetime, the body is very solid with no major rust. In my opinion the jeep has a killer look and I would run it as is. Tires all hold air, due to age and sidewall cracking I would replace them before running this any distance in the road.
According to the data tag on the side of the engine it was rebuilt at Karlsfeld Ordnance Depot outside Munich Germany in 1953. The engine runs extremely well and has the best oil pressure I have seen on a L134. The block I’m told is a late WWII block and has a Ford GPW head on it. Priced below market value at $9,500”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000.
This has a fiberglass body.
“1948 jeep fiberglass body fresh rebuilt motor. New Carburetor, radiator, starter, clutch, Alternator ( 12 volt converted ) brakes, brake lines, master cylinder. Etc.. needs to be finished needs seats done and new tires.. 6k”

“1948 Willys CJ2A. Pros: Running and driving with a gm inline 6. Frame in good shape. Hood, Windshield, front fenders and frame all in good shape. Clean New Jersey title.
Cons: Needs new floor. You can buy a completely new tub easily and have a perfect jeep. No fuel tank, no floor, no seats.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(06/28/2022) It runs and drives.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1005435990139517
“Runs and drives well. Does over 50mph. The previous owner had this a long time and did many modifications. It has a Dana 44 narrow track rear axle. I believe the front is upgraded also. Saginaw steering setup. The motor is an early 70s 2.0 Ford. The floor has been patched numerous times. Either way it’s a drivable 2a with paperwork and I’m firm on the price. Original vin tag on firewall, current RI registration in my name”
Bill shared this article about a Virginia chicken coop that housed a variety of vehicles, including a CJ-2A. Apparently, most of the vehicles (included the 2A?) are for sale.
