just observing a few details:
gas cans on right front fender
spare mounted on hood, looks like a longer wood strips?
windsheild changed to 90 degree by changing pivot point?
Seems to be the USMC Holden ambulance, am I wrong?

If you really want to read a good book that details what our WW2 guys went through I urge you to get “Flags of our Fathers”. My dad was a WW2 (Europe) and I headr some of his stories but this book is GREAT.
I’ve been to Iwo Jima in 2000…I’m here to tell you I can see why that Jeep had a hell of a time in that black sand. If you want a first hand account of the Marine Corps island hoping campaign besides the book mentioned above, read “With the Old Breed” by E.B Sledge. His book was one used in “The Pacific” HBO series that accompanied “Band of Brothers”.
