Glenn spotted this really cool Tonka.
“Tonka open Willys Jeep universal with operating wrecker derrick, string and hook. Includes an operating front mounted blade which moves from side to side and up and down. Folding windshield. Bubble red warning light applied to hood. Rubber steering wheel is in place.
Condition: excellent with minor paint chipping and rubs. Structurally sound with no dents, twists, or rust. Decals all in excellent condition.
Working features are all in operating condition. 11″ L x 5 1/2″ W x5 1/2″ H.
If you are a Jeep junkie or tow man or Tonka fancier this is an excellent prospect to meet your expectations.”
I have two of these…I don’t think that’s the right hook on it.
Ha, I’m an ‘original owner’ of one of these. I was about 8 or 9 when I took delivery on Christmas morning some time in the late 1960’s. Still have it but mine did not come with the cool snow plow. The string and hook are correct or at least mine are the same. The hook is about one step up from a paper clip. I thought that part was a ‘jip’ (using correct 8 year old vocabulary term). I’m an original owner of the similar red Jeep fire truck that was also a Tonka.
