A reader wondered why the price was so high. I wonder that too.
“Original Owner, 1948 Willys Jeep, CJ2A. This is an original owner vehicle that has been in the family since new, for 63 years. It has the original tires, top, and all other equipment as it did when it was picked up at the Jeep/Mack dealer in 1948. This vehicle has been kept in near pristine condition with no rust or dents. Still titled in the original owners name. The like new original owners manual is also included in the sale. This vehicle has been driven between 250-300 miles per year its whole life. It has about 150 miles on it so far this year. This is a once in a lifetime barn-find American icon that even has the only option available in 1948 which is all of the chrome beauty rings on the wheels and the spare.”
I think I have one I’d sell to the “second” highest bidder!!!!
WOW!
It is orginal (even tires) and not modified with a family history. Most of us have don’t have prurebreds but I like the mixed breeds. It has that “patina” people on the educational channel think is so great. Would be interesting what the antiques road show says as value………………….
it has a little Mack bulldog on the hood and turn signals on the fenders. Were chrome beauty rings really an option. I know I’ve seen them on jeeps before. Of course if it was an option, it was not the only one. It is a nice looking jeep and I have seen more outrageous prices on them.
