This Surrey has been listed previously as a 1963, and posted here on Dave’s site(Go to the last DJ3A page on eWillys). On Jan. 20, 2010, it was listed as a 63 out of Houston, TX with no price given. On May 15, 2010, it was listed as a 63 out of Hyman Ltd, St. Louis for $41,500. Now it is listed as a 1964, out of Greenwich, CT and you have to call for a price. I have it listed with serial number 56337 19055 (shows as a 1960 in my database) and as of May 25, 2011 it was again listed by Carriage House as a 1964 for $48,500. This little Surrey is making the rounds of dealers and apparently not getting many bites at those prices.

Previous comments indicated that since it was restored at no limit on cost, it should have been done correctly and I would agree. There are folks out there who do restorations, but don’t have the proper information to do it right. While it is a nice Surrey, at these prices, it should be done right. My 1960 Surrey, 56337 19170, isn’t entirely correct, but I didn’t pay nearly $50K for it either!

Thanks Colin. I had wondered if it hadn’t been around for sale. I will add some links to connect these posts.

LOL!! Kilroy, no offense taken! My Surrey is blue anyway. Not sure if I would have bought a pink one either! The word Gala in Spanish means gay and when these Jeeps were made, the terminology was way different amd the word gay was used in several vintage 1940 Willys Jeepster ads. Doubt that any Jeep ads would use that terminology today! My close Jeep buddies tease me about the little blue Jeep, but me and my Taurus Judge are perfectly comfortable driving it around! HAHAHA!!
