   So me and my buddy went and checked this out last night. It truly does have 20,000 miles. It’s a former Goodyear Aerospace fire truck. The owner said it does run, but need brake lines. It has some slight damage to the front end (very repairable) and has the typical rust in the cab corners you see on these. The current owner removed all of the firefighting equipment, which consisted of chemical tanks, a few hoses and various extinguishers. It was never a pumper truck. The owner also said that it had never gone over 35 mph in it’s life before he got it. They had some kind of a block on the linkage so you could not depress the gas pedal beyond a certain limit. The bumper on the back still shows signs of being a fire truck and it has a cool little swing away hitch on it like I’ve never seen. The frame looks solid, glass is all good. This truck is located only two miles from where it spent most of it’s life. On a side note, my father worked at Goodyear Aerospace from 1957-1971 and remembers this and other Jeep fire trucks. He also remembers two stainless flat fenders they had running around the air dock. The cool thing is that there are probably many historical photos of this Jeep to be had in the Goodyear archives. I also think the owner would take less than $3,000 for it.
