“F134 Hurricane I4 – 134.2 CID (2,199 cc) engine, plus a spare engine. Snow plow with 12V hydraulic pump. Straight frame. Good glass. Cab metal is pretty good. Bed metal not so good. Ran when I bought it a few years ago. Needs restoration. Buyer pick up. Locate in NW CT, 7mi. South of MA/CT border and l0 miles East of NY/CT border.”
This truck originally came with the L-6 226 motor in it. Sure must be underpowered with that F-head in there!
Guess they were never in a hurry?
I wonder if it’s one of those illusive (or illusion) Tornado 6-230, and he thinks it’s an F4-134? There has been some talk on the web whether or not some FC’s were equipped with an OHV engine, as were optional in the Wagons and Pickups in 1962. I’m still waiting to see photos of one to believe it.
I can’t think of anyone who would swap an F4-134 into an FC-170. The usual case is when an owner doesn’t have much knowledge of his vehicle, and does not describe it correctly. Nice looking truck if it’s not too rusty.
