Of all the things I’ve seen done to a jeep, I can’t say I have ever seen a jeep dressed with astroturf (or carpet of any kind). For the record, this is an All Wheel Drive Russian Niva. See all the pics on here:
I bet in a rainstorm, that thing doubles it’s weight. I imagine the carpet would speed up the rust factor holding moisture in. Aside from that, I have to say they did a good job and kinda cutsie. Probably a quieter ride to.
this is an awesome little car. brazil still manufactures them. i used to see them all the time down in bolivia and brasil. (where there are some much finer offroad specimens than ^^ 🙂
One of my old Jeeps had Astrotuf down as carpet when I bought it. The floor of course was pretty rough shape underneath it.
