Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Based on the “denim” seats with Levi’s metal buttons, 304 v8 and slot mags, this is a Levi’s edition Renegade.
Aside from the top, not too different from my (much missed) ’77 Levis Renegade.
At that price, might be worth it for the seats alone if you were doing a factory restoration. Nice console too.
Factory?
I didn’t know there was a Levi’s edition in brown/tan. I am not too familiar with those models.
As a young and dumb 18 yr old, I bought my 77 Levi’s renegade and immediately tossed the low back denim tan bucket seats and matching denim center console for “cool” seats and center console…def regret that! I still have it awaiting rebuild…I swapped the factory 3 sp and Dana 20 for a Ford t18 and Dana 300.

I saw a lot of tan Levis interiors.
Back in the ’70s “earth” tones were popular, so you’d see tan in a lot of CJs. Looked great in the ones painted that metallic brown color. You’d see it in red, yellow and a lot of other colors. I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the Levi Jeeps had tan interiors instead of blue.
Mine was White with blue interior.
I think I got the last blue “Best Top” for awhile.
I still don’t think they make them, so restoring a Levis Jeep can be tough.
Mine had non original (but nice) front seats. I gave them away and bought the closest I could find to original…blue in very close to the Levis color. They were high back though.
That’s why I’m slightly obsessed with getting the correct seats…as my first post showed.
