UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $9000.
Wow, this M-676 appears to have the original Navy lettering on the doors! Engine is siezed.
“This old Jeep was a Navy truck. Has a 3 cylinder supercharged diesel engine. The engine is seized it has been sitting awhile. Has been equipped with an over drive on the transfer case. Was bought for parts but it’s too nice to take apart. Does not have a title. These are hard to find. Make an offer.”
“Was bought for parts but it’s too nice to take apart.”
Yeah, right. Let’s re-phrase that to make it more accurate:
“Was bought for parts but I decided I could quadruple my money selling it as a whole truck once I found out how rare it is because of the diesel.”
Seems about right … It is too bad that diesel is seized!
Too bad the dash ID plates are missing!! Would be super nice if they still existed, really important for a true original restoration.
Yellow paint, so perhaps a flight line vehicle from nearby NAS Fallon or China Lake?
I fixing or sourcing a new diesel a big deal?
John,
My understanding is that the Cerlist Diesel used isn’t easy to find, so if you wanted to make it run, it might require repowering it.
