Brian shared this odd headline and article. You can never be sure whether the author is responsible for the headline, and it may just be pure clickbait, but the title reads, “2024 Jeep Wrangler Risks It All with Change to Iconic Grille, But It Works”
Seems like hyperbole to me, especially given the number of times the “iconic” grille has already been changed.
Here’s the link to the article: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a43509572/2024-jeep-wrangler-revealed/
Looks like the old Scout or Bronco grill influence to me. Today’s philosophy of “More is Better” on it and in it, taking it further away from the Willys iconic history of “simplicity” and/or ‘resemblance’… IMO. (like with bitcoin efforts, to “make a buck”).
Looks like a 1961 Ford Falcon.
There was a recent small “Jeep”, no doubt from the Fiat side of the family, with a similar grille.
But seriously, lately people have been spending good money to ugly up their $60,000 four door Wranglers with weird aftermarket grilles, I saw one yesterday. Some look like the “Angry Bird” cartoon face.
Why buy an icon just to remove its trademark?
Sort of like buying a Mercedes and taking off the grille.
John: I don’t understand it either.
Steve: I hand’t considered that, but there is a hint of Bronco there.
JohnB, I agree. That “small” vehicle is the Jeep Renegade which is made in Italy.
