“1952 Willys M38A1 (MD) military Jeep. This is the first year of round fender Jeep and the design would later be used for the civilian CJ5. It is powered by the 134ci “Hurricane” f-head inline 4 cylinder, has a 3-speed t90 transmission, 2-speed transfer case, and 5.38 gears. The powertrain is all period correct but I do not know whether it is original to this particular jeep. The engine runs great, doesn’t overheat, and starts easily in all seasons.

Most of the gauges don’t work but the oil pressure gauge is operational and shows the engine is in spec (40psi cold, 6psi warm idle). A previous owner hastily converted to 12v but I do have a 24v wiring harness to bring it back to the original setup, if desired. The body is pretty beat up and the front fenders are crumpled but there is little to no rust/rot. Even common trouble areas like the hat channels are very solid. It has a lot of coats of paint on it.

The top coat is olive drab but is not well done. It has also been blue, mint green, fire engine red, and gray. Included in the sale price are also many spare parts including the 24v wiring harness, 24v generator, vacuum pump, disassembled engine, rare Carter YS submersible carburetor, transmission, transfer case, a matching soft top, and period manuals. I have owned this Jeep for 10 years and it has been a great vehicle and very reliable. You always have to leave extra time when planning trips because it draws so many people. Sadly, I no longer have room for the Jeep with my growing family so it’s time so send it to a new home. It has a clean Michigan title in my name.”
