Oh wow, Ken Smith Lincoln Mercury, About 15 miles from where I lived in Clifton NJ. I would ride my bicycle that distance just to look at Jeeps. To me, this was the beginning of Jeeps becoming part of the “Mainstream American Society. Ridgewood, NJ was an upper crust Bergen County community, even back then, at the age of 15, I thought it was Kaiser’s attempt to expand it’s market share to a clientele beyond the working class image.
Ken Smith held on to the Jeep Dealership into the early 197o era, then the Jeep Brand moved down the street to the Local AMC dealer on Maple Ave. Then in the late 70’s “Tony Palermo’s AMC JEEP dealership moved to the big time location on Route 17 North Paramus.

Thanks Dave, made my day, I just noticed this as a TUX model, Ken Smith had a Powder Blue Tuxedo Park CJ5 on the showroom floor. This may be the same Jeep. These posts, especially the ones from New Jersey, make me feel like a kid again.
