“1952 Willys CJ3A Jeep 78 Iron Duke 4 cylinder 2.5 liter (90 HP, versus 60 HP from stock L-head; used in 80-84 CJs from factory) T14 3 speed, D18 2 handle transfer case, Warn overdrive (gear splitter) Dana 25/44 538 ratio.
Will do/maintain 60, but not really a freeway vehicle (ideal speed range 35 to 55-loves long rural roads). In the 9 years I’ve had this, only used 4×4 for snow. no off roading/mudding. 11 inch drum brakes. Saginaw manual steering. 31×10.5×15 tires (80% tread) Hood, grill, fenders & tailgate are original.
Period correct metal tub/windshield (were replaced in early 90s) has tool indents on right & a locking WW2 style glove box. 6 point rollbar (4 corners reinforced to frame)
Has full Besttop & doors (starting to show it’s age -27 years), a few frayed edges-no tears. Kayline bikini top. Front seats are out of early 90s Trooper.
Back seat installed 8 years ago-new. Lap belts for 4 I’ve rebuilt/fixed/upgraded:
1. Steering gearbox-Redtop exchange
2. Transmission-input shaft-gear cluster
3. Transfer case-bearings & seals
4. Overdrive-from Herm
5. Springs/shackles/U bolts/skid plates & Rancho shocks
6. Clutch, throw out bearing & linkage
7. Electric fuel pump/lines/filters
8. New brakes, cylinders, lines & master cylinder
9. Starter/alternator/battery
Only rust is at bottom of tailgate (hasn’t changed/gotten worse since I got Jeep) Only Trade considerations: 66-71 V6 CJ or Jeepster or 91-95 YJ 4.0 HO (prefer Sahara) or maybe modernized CJ3B Cash, Cash & trade (straight trade must be equivalent/close value”
