UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $14,500.
Still some assembly required.
“This Forward Control 170 is just about ready for final re-assembly. Her body is almost fully prepped for paint and the running gear needs a few more pieces. She’s rust free and just needs wrenching time. Located in Portland, OR she is part of collection of projects owned by a serious restorer of everything Willys.
The body is in fantastic shape with 90 %+ of the work completed. The undercarriage looks fabulous, and no rust can be detected. The cab is ultra-solid, one door needs to be reskinned and she is missing the windshield. Previous owner engineered a forward tilting cab using a hydraulic ram, allowing access to the running gear. Most every item is available to finish the exterior, from bumpers to emblems.
These FC’s were pretty simple on the inside. Two seats and a dash, really. The seats are in very solid condition and are ready for new covers. It is believed that all components are with the truck to finish assembling the doors, the dash, and the accessories. A unique linkage system used marine-type cables to activate the transmission and transfer case. Steering wheel and column are believed to be original.
Currently she has a small block Chevy installed, 305 cid V8. No transmission is available but a transfer case, unknown origin, does come with the vehicle. Differentials are believed to be Dana model 44’s both front and rear.”
Is this still available
Hi Larry,
It appears the ad on Craigslist has expired. I just checked Craigslist, but it hasn’t been relisted. I’ve updated the post. If I see this appear on Craigslist again, I will drop you an email.
