UPDATE: Price dropped to $4000.
(12/05/2020) A ran-when-parked specimen (though looks like it was parked many years ago). It includes a set of rare X-Style Desert Dogs which look little used. Unclear how much value is here, but the price seems to overestimate the value.

I can’t find any indication of a rear pto winch. The Facebook add says it is an automatic, but I see a clutch pedal. When the steering column parking brake is released it could be a tight squeeze getting it.

I can only guess that it includes and UNINSTALLED rear pto winch? I’m pretty sure that brake would hit my knee when released, but it is definitely a unique setup. I can’t recall seeing it installed that way.

There looks like there are two parking brake levers on steering column. I think they are in the released position when up, pulling them down to apply. Maybe one to each rear wheel, applied after exiting jeep, for winching operations, definitely strange setup.
$7 grand ??? Is this a joke ? This thing is a mess .
Price is way to much. Believe that some used to use individual rear brakes for sharper turns in the woods. Could also be to stop a spinning wheel and put power to the other.
My guess is that someone got tired of the transfercase parking brake (perhaps, like Dad’s CJ-5, theirs caught fire*) and, instead, installed more modern rear brakes with the parking brake inside the drum. Then, rather than combining those parking brake lines, the builder found it easier to run them to an easily accessible place (aka the steering column).
*I can still remember the fire. I was around 10years old. It was a cold, early morning. Dad and I were driving to some jeep club event. We hadn’t gone a couple miles from home when either he or I looked down and saw some flames underneath the jeep through one of the many gaps in the floor (not rust, just no boots on the tc or tranny … I was always fascinating at watching the ground roll by under us). Dad pulled over, grabbed the extinguisher, and blew out what he later determined to be a grease fire in or around the transfer case parking brake. We turned around and went home, where he promptly pulled off the parking brake drum (and never replaced it).
i tested a set of desert dogs on my 48 willys truck , 1970’s , clam beach , humboldt county , calif — its like daytona beach , you can drive right out on the beach and sand dunes — first i drove with my stock 7.00 x 16 mud tires , couldnt get up any dunes — drove back to the parking lot and installed 4 desert dogs with those white spoke rims — much better floatation , could go up a few sand dunes , f-4 134 engine didnt have enough power for rat patrol maneuvers though — lost a 63 buick skylark on that same beach , tide came in , 2 wheel drive buick got stuck , buick went out , it floated out to sea — luckily a brand new SUPER JEEP came down the beach with a WARN winch — i waded out in the waves and hooked it up , hauled it in — it wasnt even my car , a college buddy of mine owned it , i had to buy it $400 and some afghani – i couldnt get it running again , salt water and sand in the 215 aluminum v-8 — i sold it and later got parking tickets from HOLLYWOOD !! somebody got it running and drove it to HOLLYWOOD ? ? – DOESNT MAKE SENSE ??
t-case e-brake fire ? — YIKES !! — something i’ve never heard of or thought about ? — i guess its a perfect storm ? — oil leaking out of the output , a dirty , binding e-brake unit —> FIRE !! — i’m gonna go inspect my cj-6 t-case e-brake as soon as the snow melts .. thanks for the tip — REMEMBER , ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT T-CASE E-BRAKE FIRES !! … s. bear
