Tom spotted this CJ-2A that has been partially M-38-itized. It’s more Korea-erized than WWII-ized.

Dave, it’s an M38 with civ parts tacked on it. It was interesting exploring it to be sure, but the tub and frame are M38: Cowl battery box, dash, pass side indent, rear of body of lamp rests, and also shows the post production reinforcement at the rear seam, military plug is seen under the TG chains. Frame shows the bolt hole immediately behind the bumper for the rear bolt for the clevis. (bumper bolt would serve as the front one). CJ windshield, hood and grill. Nice PTO winch that looks similar to the ones on the Engineer M38s, but I don’t think so; just not sure.

    Barney,

I was basing the CJ-2A frame on the PTO bar, as people rarely add those to a vehicle (and it appears riveted to me). So, I’m still not sure it’s an M-38 frame?

On closer inspection, it looks like the front frame rails may have had some work, so I’m not sure what to trust on the front end of the frame.

Some good observations, Dave. This second time around I did discover that the front right fender is M38 as it has the battery box bulge.
