Nice older build flattie. I was planning on doing the cj7 wipers conversion on my flat fender project, but I’ll have to look and try and find info about Toyota wipers. Never heard of that conversion. If it’s anything to do with fj40’s it’s expensive I’m sure.
And they must of meant new Old tires or is it Old new tires. I have the exact set of 33 BFG’s sitting under my M38 and would pay handsomely for a brand new fresh set. Those haven’t been made for many, many years.
On the windshield frame is the FRESNO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE CLUB emblem. My dad has been in that club since early 1960’s he’s 86 now and still has his 1956 willys. They all built their jeeps like this one. V8 5:38 mueller top etc..
Mike,
The Fresno Four Wheel Drive Club was one of the more sophisticated clubs. Some cool things sprang from the club. Perhaps your dad knows the answer to these 2 questions:
1. Did Four Wheeler Magazine evolve out of the Fresno Four Wheeler club news letter?
2. There was a former Ford mechanic (I’m told) who apparently did a large number of jeep modifications, such as modifying windshields to fit larger windshields. Any idea what his name was? (here’s a great example: http://www.ewillys.com/2019/12/22/1948-cj-2a-fort-mohave-az-16500/ ) … I’ve got the owner’s name and number .. it’s one I want to buy.
Feel free to email me directly at d@deilers.com with any answers.
Thanks, Dave

Haha, that was the first thing I noticed! My Dad is 82. I would suppose your dad and mine knew each other. Heck, we might know each other as kids. We were members from the sixties to the seventies. Yep, this is how they built them in Fresno and Clovis back in the day.
