The odometer reads 9471 miles, but the grille pitting suggests to me the mileage is higher? Maybe the actual mileage is 109471?

“Own a piece of Jeep history. 1971 Jeepster Hurst Edition. Jeep was scheduled to build 500, but only 100 to 105 were ever built according to Jeep historians. This is one of only 65 known to still exist according to the national Jeepster Hurst registry. To preserve the originality I prepped paint and sprayed high quality clear coat. The previous owner installed new stripes. Unfortunately the stripes were not done well. I also installed new springs, shocks, BFG tire’s, and complete front end and steering rebuild. The Hurst Edition came with a Dauntless V6, turbo 400 automatic transmission, Hurst shifter, Dana 44 rear, Dana 27 front, and model 20 transfer case. I have the original springs and full cover hubcaps. I also have a new soft top that has never been installed.
Jeepster runs and drives great for its original state. No restoration has been done. I have the original owners manual and the signed and dated owner signature card.
I encourage you to look up the history of this particular model. Most enthusiasts agree it is the rarest and most desirable for collectors.”
If memory serves me correctly, the Hurst Jeepster was only sold in a hardtop, so what happened to the hardtop? The sellers description somewhat over states value & condition. I could be wrong, I could be right.
Either way, top or no top, overpriced or not it is sweet as these vehicles are slowly disappearing in the Jeep world

There is a photo with the hardtop in the craiglist ad. While I don’t subscribe to the theory that rarity equates to value, I do like the look. And, the rarity means that there are very few recent sales to set a market price. All that being said, I can’t get to $25k but I bet there is at least one person out there that can. The collector car market just seems to be going up and up regardless of what happens to our economy.
I am about 2 1/2 hours away from the seller but if anyone wants me to go take a closer look, let me know.
Thanks for the offer Prasantha! … 2 1/2 hours in good traffic, but that Olympia-Tacoma-Seattle corridor can be a mess sometimes! Back in the early 90s I had to commute from downtown Seattle to downtown Tacoma. No doubt it’s much worse these days.
