UPDATE: This sold for $66 plus shipping of $15.
This unique lighter with an entombed jeep model has already reached $26 (+$15 shipping) with four days to go.
“What a great piece. During the 1950s and 1960s Evans teamed up with the Clearfloat Company to create various see through lighters with miniaturized items “floating” inside. This one has a miniaturized figural Willys Jeep.
The lighter is also marked “Dudley”. Likely, this piece was a gift from the Jeep Dealer of Dudley, Massachusetts to their Jeep Customers. If anyone knows more about them, please drop me a line and I will add it to the info.
The Jeep inside this great decor piece is superbly detailed. I have pictured it from all angles for your inspection. Since the craftsmen at Clearfloat made these lighters by hand, there are no two of them alike. This special piece is in excellent condition with a snappy action. The flint tube is clear and a it has a great spark from the new flint that was installed for your convenience.
Here is your chance to add this Good-Looking Evans Clearfloat Décor Table Lighter to your collection – Thanks for looking.”
This is very cool. Looks like the link dropped off… found it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Automotive-1950s-Evans-Clearfloat-Lighter-WW2-Willys-Jeep-Dudley-Nr-Mint/193590185386?hash=item2d12dfcdaa:g:lwoAAOSwOb5fGNLt
after searching for Evans Clearfloat Lighter on eBay. 🙂
Joe. Yep, oops. we’ll go with “link dropped off” rather than “Dave forgot to post the link” …

Hi Peery,
I entered the phone number on WhatsApp, but the app claims it doesn’t exist. Can you email the image to d@deilers.com?
Thanks,
– Dave
Does the lighter have any value if separated from the jeep?
I have the exact lighter. Thanks
Linda,
I haven’t seen many of these for sale over the years. As you can see above, this one went for $66 and represents the only sale price I have found for one (I did not buy it). I suspect yours would fetch a similar price on eBay. I would guess the ‘value’ at $50 – $100, depending on who was bidding on it, when you listed it, and where you listed it.
If you decide to sell it, please let me know. I’d be happy to list your ebay listing (or FB/Craigslist listing). As I collect unusual jeep lighters, I may consider buying it as well. You can email me directly at d @ dealers.com (remove the spaces around the @).
Best of luck!

Good afternoon Dave,
I sent you an email with a few pictures. I hope you received it.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!
Hi Linda,
I did not receive the email, but now I see why. The site “autocorrected” my email address, lol. Sigh.
The CORRECT address is … d @ deilers.com (remove the spaces around the @)
Sorry about that,
– Dave
Hi Dave,
I resent the pictures to the new email you provided. Hope it comes through.
Hi again Dave,
That email address was rejected as well. Maybe try sending me an email directly and I can reply to your email with the pics. I’m trying.
