“I have 2 DJ5 Mail Jeeps …so right hand drive. They do need some rehab. 1 is a 6cyl..was running when parked. 1 4 cyl..engine is in parts. ..has rust on the body..do not waste my time. They are priced to scrap.”
The postal Jeeps have a big following on the facebook pages, a lot of younger guys are restoring and doing amazing rebuilds, surprised me, I thought they were orphans, have a more devoted following than the postal fleetvans.
I too have been surprised by the interest in DJ-5s. Folks are still buying used ones for mail routes and, like you said, are buying them to fix up and drive. I suppose their low prices make it a cheaper hobby.
I contacted the dude – $600 for the pair and he’s only selling them as a pair. I was interested but can’t take both.
