Bob, what made you think it was a replacement? The dash has been customized and their is some kind of liner along the rear edge, but nothing screams replacement to me?
Where are the rear corner brackets?
Probably removed them as part of lining the ridge around the back.
Serial number 40549 is much closer to the 1954 CJ3B production numbers.
They could have been removed. Sure. But typically unlikely.
