UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $4800.
Could be a good price.
“Own the real deal, 1951 Willys. This is the farm version. Vehicle history: first Nebraska then Wyoming and finally Wisconsin. This was a working farm vehicle. It has 49,000 original miles. It comes with a fabric top and doors. It is not perfect, however it is 99% rust free. It is a fun head turner.”
What is the “Farm” version and what makes it different?
Main ingredients for a ‘farm version would be a pto, governor, 3 point hitch and a chaph screen. There are a host of other attachments that run in conjunction with those options.
Here is a good explanation of the “Farm Jeep” and “Farm Tractor”, though the VIN should be checked on the jeep above to insure it really is one of those two models: http://www.cj3a.info/cj3a/farmjeep/fj.html
Here’s the ad for both models from the same page: http://www.cj3a.info/cj3a/farmjeep/1951farmjournal.jpg
What indicates this vehicle was a farm Jeep, I can’t see the controls for the lift. Pictures of the rear PTO, lift and engine governor would be good. Unless there is a certain indication that it was once one I am not familiar with, not well educated on them other then the obvious.
Paint the wheels orange and it looks like an Al toy jeep.
I don’t see any options on this jeep that would indicate it’s a farm jeep other than the possibility the there was a governor as the knock out in the dash for the handle has been punched out. It’s not uncommon for options to be taken off the jeeps for one reason or another so hard to say if it is or isn’t without
Looking at the vin.
Hi
Was wondering if you have any interest in a trade? I have a 2000 Harley 1200 Sportster with less than 5000 miles on it. It is like new. I had knee operation right after I bought it, so can’t risk any injury. Hate to sell but age has caught up to me. Any interest give me a yell back. Will try to send pics if I can.
Thank you
Bob
Hi Bob,
It looks like the ad expired on Craigslist, so I don’t know if it sold or not. I’v updated the post. If I see it relisted, I’ll drop you an email.
