Looks like the 3B hood was added to allow room for the F-head. I suppose that’s one way to tackle the problem.

I know the F-head engine is technically rated at 10 HP more than the L-head, but is that increase in horsepower that much more noticeable when you’re driving? I know there’s other variables when you’re comparing one engine to another, like wear/timing/carburetor adjustments, etc. but do F-heads have more noticeable power or acceleration? Is it apparent to everyone that upgrades from an L-head to an F-head?

What in the hillbilly hell was someone thinking! Yes, the f head has 12 more horsepower but I think most people switch because the F head is what they find first.

This is beyond words, would have been easier to just put the little hood cover for the carb like everyone does instead of this monstrosity . I agree with you Bob.

rust never sleeps — iron oxide — coast cancer — mars — rusty jeeps — r.u.s.t. , the story of my life — ps , I personally hate L-4 134s — no good 4 nothing — the F-4 134 is light years smoother and almost SEXY !
