I assume the seller means the repro body was in a crate . Yes cj 2a jeeps were created , In 1969 while building the World Trade Center (I was an ironworker ) we would cross under the West Side High way to eat lunch at an old abandoned ferry terminal that was being used as a where house for Jeep parts and jeeps for overseas shipment . I remember sitting on crated jeeps clearly marked with the jeep logo and marked as cj5 s. I guess Jeep corp. put jeeps in crates long after that for shipment overseas .
hmmm … now that reminds me that I may even have photos of crated CJ jeeps heading overseas. But, were they crated for the domestic market?
I hadn’t thought of the body being in a crate, but that does make sense.
