UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $19,000.
Nice looking one.
“M38 military jeep. Painted Navy grey. Airport vehicle. 4 Cyl. Not really for highways. I acquired Jeep for airport general use, tow, tool, and drive. On of those old M38s that’s worth a look. 24volt,siren, winch, Pintel hitch. 19,000$”
She’s a beauty! I’m no M-38 expert but it sure looks right to me. Cool use of brass screws/accents, left unpainted.
Great looking rig. Nicely done.
its pretty General , but can it FIGHT ?
The rifle rack is upside down. Correct for the MB and GPW, not correct for M-38. Yes Barney they can fight, Ha!
Perhaps I’m seeing double, but I believe awhile back this was a 1952 without a winch, had black seats, no rifle rack and short a winch and delivery data plate. It cleaned up real nice, same hood numbers.
Brian,
Good to know. Did you find that in the eWillys archives or elsewhere? I can’t seem to locate it.

Dave, I typed in m38 navy jeep on bing then looked at images, i clicked on the image went to the sight and found about a dozen pics of this jeep. Same paint, decals and lettering.asking price was 16,000, and about 400 less miles on the speedo. It was listed as a 52.
This guy had a lot of work done for a 3,000 price increase, jeep looks real pretty now, but it’s not a 1950 in my very unexpert opinion.

This jeep is on eBay now with 1 bid of $16,000 with no reserve.
Is this still available? I don’t see sold anywhere
Hi Steve,
I can’t tell at this point if it sold or not. It’s no longer showing up on Craigslist, but that may mean the seller is waiting to resist it. I’ve updated the post. If I see the jeep on Craigslist I will drop you an email.

Thanks much! I’m looking for a 1950 Navy M38 since I was in the Navy and born in 1950.
