“1960 DJ-3A Willys Jeep 2WD
This jeep was purchased by my Dad in 1969 and has been in the family since. It was used for transportation on a vacation island in upstate NY going to the beach, etc….island was 3.5 miles by 7 miles. My brother did a restoration around 20 years ago…..runs, drives, clean with minor scraped and scratches. Seats and top could need to be redone….but no tears. It has a new carb, still have the original carb, missing a front turn light lens and the original gas cap. Dad removed the side foot steps many years ago and they are gone along with both side door frame.

39935 miles…..believe it was in the mid 20’s when Dad purchased. Let me know if there are any questions….i’ll try to answer the best I can……oh, my Mom has all the paperwork to go with it.”

I thought it was a Pepsi Surrey, thanks for the conformation. Endicott NY is near Binghamton NY. Back in the 60’s there was a Pepsi Cola Bottler in that area.

The serial number is 56337 18403, which puts it in a mix of Pepsi Surreys, the closest being 18398. I have 7 Pepsi Surreys in my database. I’m sure there are more out there that were either repainted or had different fabric done for the top, interior and spare tire carrier. Trying to get more history about this Surrey.

I have purchased this Pepsi-Surrey and would like to get some information for the restoration of the Jeep. Could anyone please tell me where to find material for the seats and the canopy, also where is the best place to order replacement parts, speed-o-meter, instrument gauges, side steps etc, paint codes and fabric numbers. What colors where the original engines, radiator, air cleaners, etc. I wish to put this back to as original as possible. I would appreciate any help I could get. The comments that were made helped me in my decision to purchase this surrey. Thanks for the help. Rick

    Hi Richard,

    Congrats on the purchase!

Once site that has a great deal of DJ-3A and Surrey info is this one: http://www.jeepsurreygala.com/ . Bruce Agan built it, but has since passed away. There is a group of us that discuss DJ-3A & Surrey issues. Because your Surrey is even more unique, using Derek’s Pepsi Surrey page may be of some use: https://www.cj3b.info/Siblings/SurreyPepsi.html .

As Colin noted above, he tracks the serial numbers and only has 7 Pepsi Surreys documented.

Anyway, I can’t answer everything about the Pepsi Surreys, but I do own two DJ-3A Convertibles. Feel free to email me at d@ewillys.com.

    Thanks,
    – Dave
