M38?
M38 don’t come with tailgate I believe. Author Dave, can you get a phone number from this guy please? I’m interested in the jeep. Thanks.
That is a M38 body. M38’s have a tailgate, the M38A1 does not.
That looks to be a Philippine reproduction body on a CJ-3A frame.
1) There’s no battery box on the cowl, so mostly likely not an M-38 body
2) The frame has the 3A grille attachments rather than the M-38 hinges.
3) The frame looks to be 3A rather than a 2A based on the way the front bumper attaches
4) The M-38 and M-38 repros have tailgates without the Willys script. Nearly all M-38A1s have a solid back, the exception being the M-38A1Cs and Ds. Also, the M-170s, based on the M-38A1s, have tailgates, too.
