UPDATE: Still Available. This could be a neat find if NOS.
“This is a brand new, freshly opened, original hard top for a M38-A1Willys Jeep. This is not an after market product or reproduction, it is an original. This hidden treasure has not seen the sunlight since 1954 when it was made.”

This is a hardtop for an M38A1, you can see how the front edge of the doors (by the window) angle to match the slope of the windshield. While the top and side panels are formed from aluminum the doors are wood and often warped.

Thanks Shane. I’ve updated the post.
Price went up from 700 to 1000… ok sketchy
Did these have lifting back hatches? Since the m38a1 doesnt have a tailgate would it open in the rear?
Jeff,
The reality is there’s no comparable out there (that I know of except for used tops), so $700 was probably a starting guess. Maybe the seller talked to someone and realized that it might be with more. I’d say $1000 is a better starting point if the top is in the shape advertised. If someone is restoring an M-38A1 and wants a perfect top for it, this might be a hard item to pass up (it is the only one I know of). I can respect that the seller deleted the old ad, raised the price, then published a new one.
