UPDATE: **SOLD** $6200 on eBay
Nick’s got this twin-stick-PTO 3B for auction on eBay. He’s included a couple good shots of the PTO lever (not many of these around any more) and the crankshaft mechanism that operates the winch.
“For sale is a great representation of the Willys CJ3B. This is Jeep has an original body with factory twin-stick Ramsey PTO.
Clear and modern title.
The Jeep runs, drives at 60 mph, and stops. Even in 20 degree weather it starts right up. I drove the Jeep on a few 1+ hour trips without flaw. Clutch works and shifts gears smoothly. High/low range works. Rear PTO works great, needs a driveshaft for the winch. The shaft on the passenger floor controls the winch in/out direction. Two shifters between the seats engage the winch/PTO box. Rear PTO box can be attached to various agricultural equipment.
Good: Overall good condition with original parts. Body doesn’t have any patch panels and still has the side drain holes. Tires are pretty new. Original 6V system. Jeep is ready to be enjoyed.
Bad: Engine has minor smoke, needs lights/heater hooked up.
It has a Koenig 100R winch, which connects to the engine via crankshaft. This means all the parts are present to operate the winch. The passenger lever is the engage/disengage.”
Curious as to how the engagement of the crankshaft winch works. Do you have to turn motor off to engage?
Nice Jeep , wished it we’re closer. That’s a killer winch , very rare power verversble Koenig R100J , should bring a pretty penny for sure
Dave, that’s a good question. There’s much more info here, though I didn’t see an answer to your question. https://cj3b.info/Tech/KoenigCrankshaftWinch.html
Ted, do you know the answer to Dave’s question?
Hey Dave ,and Dave Motor does have to be off to engage and you can turn the winch drum by hand to line up crankshaft pulley for engaging Great stuff on Derek’s site about this awesome Winch and Im attaching a great video that walks you through all the components and great detail on how it works. The video is from a guy named Steve Bovee who actually contacted me through Ewilly’s awhile back at the same time amazingly that Derek did both in regards to the Koenig R100J I had mentioned a few times in various posts . Really amazing Winch in the fact that its the only one Ive ever seen that’s power reversible for Hoisting and lowering loads as John Jeep showcases nicely!!! If the winch on this 3B is the model 100J its the one direction pull in only version with the R100J being the only model that’s power reversible
Here’s the link to Steve’s Video Great stuff!!!

Here’s an animated picture that shows the crankshaft piece moving in/out to engage the winch system: https://cj3b.info/Photos/Tech/KoenigWinch/Crankshaft/ControlLinkage.gif
If Grandpa Jeep had the correct crank pulley and ran the levers instead of the cables, he could have engaged it while running.
I have one of these…
I guess if a few of the main pieces are missing and you don’t have the correct crank pulley or cab levers then you make do with what you’ve got or improvise
Very interesting and well documented. Never seen one before.
Sold for US $6,200.00 [ 55 bids ].
Personally I like those tires… serious and unique treads!
Sold to a guy outside Nashville, TN. I just happened to be going there yesterday and delivered it. He used to be a Jeep dealer in Colorado.
Congrats Nick and thanks for the update.
