UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200. Relisted here.
No engine or trany. Not a whole lot of parts value either.
“1958 Jeep/Willys DJ3A 2 wheel drive. Frame has been repaired and boxed. Tub is rough but serviceable, other body parts need minor work. Body tag and frame stampings match clear Texas title. All tires hold air for the smooth and easy flat tow to your place. This is a project (a roller) no engine or transmission, Don’t come looking expecting to drive it home. These accept everything from a big block to a four banger. No parts please.”
I’m not so sure “there’s not a whole lot of parts value there” if you’re in Texas and want a DJ. The 5 rims and axles and springs are getting harder to find and cost lots to ship, and there’s the rear tank, also special to the Dj, and with a clear title and tag said, plus the tow bar. Body seems complete with surface rust but not banged up too bad as with most, especially the hood. It all adds up when you’re needing it. But what really got my attention was the passenger side inner fender battery location. Has anybody ever seen that before like that one is, or is it a ‘modification’?
Steve,
Those are good points, but the reason I thought there wasn’t much value was 1) the tank is probably not in the best of shape (an issue I am seeing as very common), 2) the body is no longer original (patched in a variety of places), 3) the frame has been patched and 4) there is no engine or tranny. Given the tilt in the rear, I suspected the rear springs might be toast. That said, there should be at least some value here. π
