This photo was taken at an auto museum (Harrah’s?) in 1991. I haven’t seen this jeep at any of the California museums I’ve visited. Anyone know what happened to it?

After the death of William Harrah, his estate sold off the collection in three separate auctions. One of the big buyers of these vehicles was a millionaire car collector who built his own museum, I believe it was in Washington State. I don’t remember his name, but if memory serves me correctly, he also passed away, and the museum collection was sold off at another well publicized auction.
I don’t think that was part of the Harrah Collection. There are 2 other fire fighting museums in Reno though. I have the serials’s of the 2 from the Harrahs auction.
If the museum in Washington was the Lemay America’s Automobile Museum, I was there last Friday, and the only flatfender they had was a late MB.
Keith,
Did you go to the new or old LeMay museum? I was told the old, original LeMay museum in Spanaway is still there. When LeMay donated some of the autos to the new museum in Tacoma the future museum turned around and auctioned some to pay for the new museum. Apparently this didn’t sit well with the LeMays. I’ve only seen one jeep in the new LeMay museum as well.
