Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
One 1947 CJ-2A was complete. A second is a part’s jeep.
“We are looking to sell everything together and have priced it accordingly – $5,500 for everything including a transferable registration and second CJ2a with data plates.
If we were to “part it out” we would get a lot more than the $5,500, but are interested in selling it as a complete package or in large lots.
Everything is stored in a temporary garage as well as inside my garage.”
Hey folks, just leaving a few comments about this lot.
-complete new electrical harness
-complete PTO (minus drum)
-clean frame w/ Front/back bumpers already cleaned up, coated in POR15 and topcoated with a chassis paint.
-clean front / rear axles cleaned up and coating in POR15 w/ chassis paint
-Rebuilt transmission
-Rebuilt transfercase
-two complete working engines and an extra one
A good amount of work has already been invested, all that remains is a few weekends with a wrench to put it all together. A great winter project.
The Green one was fully running when disassembled and has transferable registration.
It’s enough to make two CJ2As. One very nice looker, one for fun, and a good amount of spare parts.
A large amount of parts are new as my son had all intentions to do a complete frame off restoration.
Ultimately after dumping much more than he was comfortable with (the selling price does not reflect this) into the project he felt he was in well over his capabilities.
