Looks good.
“1958 Willys Wagon for sale. All original drivetrain. L-226 Flathead 6 engine, T-90 3 speed transmission and Dana 18 Transfer case.
The body is in very good shape with minor rust. Some oil leaks and will need a clutch soon. Starts, drives, and stops.
Drivers seat (needs upholstery) and passenger seat frame only.
It is hard to find an original Willys Wagon with a body in this condition. It wouldn’t take much to make it a nice, comfortable daily driver.”
I looked at this wagon five years ago before I found my ’64 Traveller. This one had lived much of its life on a horse ranch west of Red Bluff, California. It’s hot and and arid up there, ideal for preserving old iron.
More details here (in case that’s useful to a potential buyer): http://www.oldwillysforum.com/forum/showthread.php?2731-1958-Willys-Wagon-(stock)-possible-addition
I’m also not too far from its current location (if the CL ad is accurate). Happy to go look at it for an out-of-town buyer.
dan, i am speaking with seller if you could call me with prior knowledge. seven four zero five zero four three three two eight from ohio
I drove this about 2-3 years ago. It was in good shape then, drove well – I wasn’t especially adept at using the choke. Ran well in both hi/low all gears. Major flaw was rust holes in both fender wells 10-12″ you could put your little finger in.
Thanks for the additional information Vic!
