“53 Willys Pickup 4×4
305 Chevy, SM 465 Transmission, 205 Transfer case, Dana 53 rear end, Dana 25 front, 4:27 ratio, Goodyear 31×10.50/15 tires, 8″ wheels. Runs, drives, stops as it should. Heat and defrost work, as do electric windshield wipers. No power steering, no power brakes, no A/C. no stereo. Very little rust. Not bad for 64 years old. It’s my daily driver. I hate to sell it, as Willys trucks this solid are far and few between. It has been in many parades. $9500.00 firm. I don’t need to sell it and I won’t give it away.”

Dave/ anybody know safe way too buy willys out of state safe for both side ??thanks NJ bad place to find one in good shape
Chris,
That’s an excellent question. Unfortunately, there’s no easy answer. I encourage folks to see the vehicle whenever possible. Seller’s aren’t always accurate in their descriptions through lack of knowledge rather than any attempt to be dishonest. Meanwhile, buyer’s expectations can be a little too high, especially first time buyers. Nearly all of us have bought some old jeep that wasn’t quite what we expected. I suppose the best way is to see if you have any friends in common with the seller. Other than that, you just have to choose wisely.

Wish you were closer! I’m in CT and like the truck, but with the price and the shipping cost. I think that it is just outside of my budget.
He sent me pics. Rusted beyond what I would pay that for it. Bondo popping in the doors and cowl base and floors welded over rotted floors. Dash has rot, all 4 corners of the bed are rotted.
Thank you Dave CT
Thank you Dave CT , Did he happen to have any photos of the engine bay or frame? I’m also wondering if that “tool box” in the bed is housing the battery…
