   Hi James,

   That’s a good and common question:

   For a short period of time, March, 3rd through April,14th of 1948, the Willys Overland factory switched the normal location of the spare tire mount on the passenger’s side to amount on the driver’s side, which in turn necessitated the bow pockets be moved to the passenger-side. Thus they are called a “Lefty”.

   The serial number range was from #176,061 through #185,769 … though there were some exceptions.

   Some sellers aren’t very prompt at returning calls and emails. Frustrating for sure. I can’t verify whether the contact info on the ad is correct or not.
