UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

Matt alerted me to this refurbed FJ-6.

“this is a very rare 1965 kaiser jeep fleetvan, it was originally a mail delivery vehicle and is now restomoded and can be easily turned into whatever you need it to be! the transmission is the original 3-speed Borg-Warner 35 automatic that has been freshly rebuilt by the same company that has serviced them locally since the 60s.

The engine is the original 2.2L F4-134 Hurricane inline 4 cylinder runs very well and has been completely gone through and doesn’t leak or burn any oil , this kaiser jeep fleetvan has been completely gone through, with all new glass and rubber, new tires, new wheels and hub caps, all new brakes (lines and all!) all new suspension all new wiring all new lights, led turn signals led brake lights and stop lights! new paint (sand blasted to bare metal before paint and bodywork was done) no rust whatsoever!

New stereo and ice cream music box ! new sheet metal! it has the works!! I have progression pictures as well if you are interested , almost everything is new in this cool old fleetvan great for an ice cream truck or a delivery truck for your business!!!”

Nice restoration, just going to be a “HARD SELL” at that price. The seller states, “Would make a great ice cream truck”, How much ice cream would one have to sell before you recoup your investment? The days of the shiny Good Humor truck are long gone. No money in running an ice cream route. You can count on me for the reality checks, just the same, we all can dream on.

P/S Back in the 1980’s, A friend of mine, Georgie the K cued me in on a FJ6 along the Pulaski Sky way in NJ. The guy he worked for Couldn’t get rid of it, no title, the junk man didn’t even want it, was giving it away for free. Think about it, the more things change, the more they remain the same.

Beautiful restoration. I am restoring one just like it. Any suggestions where I can get parts like side mirrors, Fleetvan emblem, fuel pump or rebuild kit. What did you do about brakes? Did you go to discs or stay with shoes. Mine is not bad on the body and won’t have to be sand blasted. The front lower windows are stiff with age but not broken. Did you remove them for painting? Thank you for any help you can offer.

Where did you get the window seals? I am looking for a place that cuts flat auto glass and everyone says check the internet. Apparently glass companies don’t cut glass anymore. They just install precut glass. Guess Millennials just can’t be bothered to learn a skill.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any contact info for this seller. When I needed flat glass cut in Boise, Idaho, I had to look for a local shop, not a chain. I’d don’t know if that helps??? I ended up paying $100 (8 years ago) for a CJ-3A windshield, cut and installed.

I am looking for a step van similar to this or this exact one. I would love any information on where this one is or who it was sold to. Also, any information on other step vans, fleet vans, or ice cream trucks under or around $2000 would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jaxson,

The FJ-3s, FJ-3As, FJ-6s, and FJ-8s are commanding prices above $2000, even for projects. I’m not as familiar with other step side vans and their values.
