I wonder if anyone has any stories or information on how most WWII jeeps in HI. were released to the public. Were these Jeeps sold as surplus in HI. or were most sold surplus stateside and then shipped to the islands. It just seems that there tend to be quite a few WWII jeeps for sale in HI.
I think there were around 11 bases in Hawaii in WWII. I would guess that most were bought surplus there.
