UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $4000.
“The truck is an early 1947-according to the VIN # this is the oldest surviving Willys 4×4 truck on the Willys forum. It is likely that there is an older survivor somewhere, but this is one of the first. The body is in exceptional shape for a vintage Willys truck. I’d ballpark estimate that 70-80% of these old Willys trucks have been so abused that they are frankly not worth restoring. This one is. When I acquired the truck a few years back, the PO had sanded and prepped the body for paint-then lost interest. so I sprayed it with two light coats of the original Michigan Yellow paint to protect it. there are a few small wrinkles and dings, and the bed floor has a few small holes, but there are no hidden surprises. The only bondo I saw was two (small) screw holes for a mirror on the passenger door and two teaspoon size repairs on the front fenders. The truck looks good in the pics, but needs a repairs including re-welding the hood supports before a final coat.
Most of the glass and rubber seals are new. These are hard to find and $$$. The brand new drivers window fell off the track and has a crack. Flat glass, should be about $50.
The brakes were rebuilt by the PO. Again, 95% of these old trucks have bad brakes.
The motor is an early Ford 289, with the same code as the early HO Mustangs and Cobra. It is not the HO version. I believe it was a fresh rebuild when I got it, and runs fine, but on dry starts it makes an unpleasant noise until the oil reaches the entire motor. Because of that, I don’t trust it.
The remainder of the drive train is stock with the exception of the vintage Ramsey PTO winch. Factory three speed.
Tow bar not included.
You will need to apply for the lost title. It is not stolen, just sat for years and PO didnt have it.
Here is a thread of the truck on the Old Willys forum:

The price is firm. cash No trades. Will take $3200 without the tires and wheels as they vintage replicas and cost +/-1200. I am not a motivated seller, this is one of the coolest vintage 4x4s Ive owned and will find another storage unit, and hopefully have time to complete it at some point. It is currently locked in my elderly neighbors garage, so I am not going to pull it out unless you have the cash and are serious. I hate to be a dick, but am a busy person and am tired of flakes on CL. “
As noted, the seller has documented its history and his work to it on OldWillysForum.com.

HI Greg,
The craigslist ad expired. If it reappears on Craigslist I will let you know. In the meantime, (thanks to Dan’s comment) I discovered the owner on the Old Willys Forum. You can read about the build and contact him there: http://www.oldwillysforum.com/forum/showthread.php?6137-1947-or-48-Truck-with-small-block-Ford/page11&highlight=Michigan+Yellow
