Col Ed Shames of E 506 PIR is the on that was getting all these veterans together, maybe for the last time. Currahee Military Weekend celebrates the units that trained there for the Airborne. Band of Brothers being one of the units. Ed was part of that unit. He also is a Medal Of Honor recipient. When I heard he was trying to do this alone I offer to help him defray the cost as he should not have to do this out of his pocket.
Let us help the men of the Greatest Generation get to the top of Currahee Mountain one more time ( this time in jeeps of course). Even a dollar. With 2000 likes or views on the page if each person put in only a dollar we would be in great shape. The 20k will never be reached. But if we did could you imagine the time we could give these veterans. Many will have family or caregivers with them that are needed. Not all can hop in my jeep like a 327th Glider Infantry man did I Norfolk at the 101st Airborne Division Reunion in Norfolk last week.
Let’s show them we care and we remember.
