Mark listed this over at warjeeps.com.
“What you are looking at is an original 1951 M38 Jeep. The Jeep has the correct MC engine, but does have a repairable crack above the distributor. A correct RMC engine block will come with it. The body is pretty straight. It has the usual floor rust. Most of the rust through area is in the driver front floor, but just where the flat panels are meaning it would be an easier repair job if you know how. The engine is not locked and spins freely. The Jeep has most of its original paint from the Korean War era and also still has its hood numbers both are pretty unusual to see on a Jeep as old as this. I would prefer this old steel soldier to find a good home to bring it back to life! I don’t usually sell my project Jeeps, but my dually needs 6 new tires.”
“MC engine”??
“RMC engine block”??
I’m always learning something on this site. I don’t recall either of those terms. Anyone care to clarify, please?
Thanks
MCXXXX is original engine for an M38. RMCXXXX is a engine that has been rebuilt. This post ought to clarify things: http://www.thecj2apage.com/forums/m38-motors_topic13777.html
