UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $50.
“My friend pulled this seat out of the back his M38A1. I don’t know what it’s from. Do you think you and/or your readers can identify it or eliminate that it doesn’t belong in a CJ, wagon, or something similar?
It’s about 32″ wide. Seat back is about 25″ tall from top to the apex of the curve and seat is a depth of about 18″
The seat back has a full metal support under the Vinyl that does have strength grooves. Cushions are metal springs with horse hair or coconut fiber. I’m guessing the seat is from the 40-50’s but not sure.”
I am guessing an early wagon or jeepster bench seat, but perhaps with no hinges a very early pickup I have some in storage I think….
Its not a Jeepster seat, no front legs for height and no hinges on the seat back for folding and Jeepster rear seats weren’t like this at all, but could be the right rear passenger seat from an early station wagon.
The welds look factory and the front leg looks purpose built for the seat as an original design. The early wagon seats did not fold but still had legs that would have taken a lot of effort to remove, especially doing so without leaving grinding marks.
Maybe a ’47 pickup?
Looks like an old school bus seat from years ago.
This is positively a front driver’s side seat from a Willys Wagon. The later Wagons had an adjustable seat with sliders. The middle years had fixed seats, with three choices in the floor to bolt it down to fit the driver. I’m not sure about the early Wagons. This is one exactly as in my ’57 Sedan Delivery.

Notice the springs are crushed on the left side where the driver sits. No one ever sits in the middle area where the springs are not flattened. The sticks are very close to the seat, and make it difficult to sit there when the driver has to shift gears.
