“SOLD!!!!!1946 Willys cj2a Jeep with rare aluminum hard top! 12 volt upgrade with new battery. “Go Devil” L-head engine. Jeep starts and runs strong, brakes, steers and shifts through all gears no problem. 4 wheel hi/low works. It has new front turn signals (easily removed to return to stock), as well as correct tail lights (not cheap generic).
Headlights work, also has cabin heater (under driver dash). All footman loops are present. New original style spare tire carrier/mount from Walcks (not generic aftermarket carrier). Engine was removed and re-built several years ago- have re-build receipts. Have paperwork, operating manual and mechanics manual. Paint is old flat finish. My original plan after buying it was to re-paint it, but after seeing it in person, I fell in love with the patina and decided to leave it as is…can’t get this patina in a paint can, it looks AWESOME and gets tons of compliments at shows! Original body is not perfect, but close…
AMAZING for 70 years old! I’ve been to specialty WILLYS CJ shows and I’ve yet to see a better original body…only way to improve is to buy the thinner modern replacement bodies from Asia…no thanks. Aluminum top is all rivet construction, so it looks very military tough! The aluminum doors are molded to seal along the top, sides and bottom “door opening” where the jeep body bends. In pictures it appears to be dented, but in person you will see it is not dented, but is in fact a factory crease to conform to body contour. Windows slide open/ shut.
Seats are good – no tears. Bolt on roll cage for safety along with harness seat belts- can be removed. One crack in windshield, one crack in side rear aluminum top window. Neither bothered me, but could be replaced cheap! This is a really neat CJ (also selling my mint c4 corvette). Wish I could keep it but we just had our second child and don’t have the time to enjoy it. Hoping to find this CJ a good home at $6,500 obo.”
