UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000.
Appears to have a replacement body.
“For sale our beloved Blue Willy’s Jeep that has taken us on many trail rides, ice cream runs, fun summer trips and forest road trail drives. We are the 4th owner of “Eddy” and now it is time for someone else to enjoy the many benefits of owning a Piece of American History. Why sell Eddy? Another project demands his place in the garage, and it is time to move Eddy to a new loving home.
We purchased Eddy in 2006 and drove him home with no issues. Eddy has his original 4-cylinder motor, 6-volt electrical system, and running chassis, as well as a few upgrades. In the 80’s, Eddy’s original body was replaced with a new metal body, which today has no rust. Eddy also has an overdrive that makes this a very drivable Jeep on and off the road. In 2006, we added manual hub 4×4 knobs to make it easier to get in and out of trouble. Eddy also got new tires from Les Schwab that are very functional on both asphalt and off road. We replaced all 4 springs, shocks, and the fuel tank, as well as bought new foam and canvas seat covers.
Eddy is based in Hood River and has been on many of the dirt roads on Mount Hood and around the area on both sides of the Columbia River.
Eddy leaks a bit of oil but not enough to pull the motor (we catch it with an oil tray at this point). Other than that, there is nothing wrong with Eddy. He could be used as is or as a starting point for your next project.
Please call if you would like schedule a viewing. Pictures are from last summer Eddy is being sold as used and AS IS no warranties. Eddy will be posted eBay motors as well.”
That looks like an actual correct M-38 replacement body than a combination body. The parking brake handle, speedo cluster and hinge holes on front grill look correct. I wonder who the manufacturer was.
This replacement body is closer to an original M38 body than most but it’s still missing the cowl battery box, the notch in the right front fender for the battery box, the panel in the right footwell area for the engine heater and the instrument panel layout has the speedometer too low and only one instrument light when there’s supposed to be two.
The right front fender on the Jeep does have a notch for the battery ….. my mistake.
