UPDATE: Price dropped to $6000.
(01/29/2016) This might be worth a look. I wonder if it has a Gov plate.

“Jeep came from Shaw Air Force base in the 70’s. Been shetered and keep clean. Engine runs good and transmission shifs fine can take top off ”
Nice looking jeep. I love the cj6, lots of room. I have one that I’m restoring, has a gsa plate from the forest service. This looks to be a little shorter than the one that I have, about 20 ” or so. It looks very sporty though and I like the top!
The Craigslist posting says it is a CJ5.
Looks to me like it has a WWII Jeep, military truck type trailer socket installed above the drivers tail light.
Sometimes those diagonal photo shots make the Jeeps look longer, especially with the hardtop. This was probably a late night (blurry eyed) post by Dave, definitely a CJ-5. Dave will fix it after his morning coffee.
Uh oh, I hope everyone knows I’m just giving Dave a hard time. It’s clearly a cj5. Just trying to get his goat! More importantly, where did that phrase come from…
That’s funny toddy. I get your humor. It could be the cj6s or the short cj6 😉
It is most definitely a CJ-5. I hit the wrong key late last night. Sorry for the confusion (I at least tagged it to the correct category, lol).
I actually stopped and looked at this thing today, as it’s parked against the fence in a recycling yard. Beautiful CJ5, built for the Air Force’s MP’s, but was never used as such, because they went with something else. What’s the price for it now?
Damon, is it still for sale? I haven’t seen it relisted in a while. I don’t know what the current price is.
It went up on FB Marketplace an hour ago! Owner wants 6 grand. He listed it as a Cherokee, lol. Pretty sure it doesn’t run. The ad is a bit vague about that.
Thanks Damon. I’ve updated the post and bumped it forward.
